She is also trained to manage children with cerebral palsy and other neuro-disabilities.

Ms Kalai Selvi d/o Ramakrishna is experienced and knowledgeable in first aid both theoretically as well as practically. Her working experiences in nursing and offshore medic provided great exposure for her trainees. She has also facilitated several PFA workshops since the programme introduction by SRCA from February 2016 to SRC volunteers and members. Selvi joined the Singapore Civil Defence Force in 1997 as a Paramedic and completed 1.5 years training as a Paramedic in School of Military Medicine. Selvi continued with the force for 8 years responding to Medical and Trauma emergencies including Childbirth emergencies and Pediatric emergencies. She participated in the different contingency exercises held by various Ministry of Home Affair agencies. She further upskilled by attending the Jakarta SOS in 2012 and was certified by the American Heart Association in International Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and ECG & Pharmacology.
